Santorini Arrival
Early in the morning, a private vehicle will be waiting for you to transfer you to the port of Piraeus where you will board the ferry to the island which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration: Santorini. Approaching the island by ferry you will be amazed by the imposing sight of the town of Fira, with its white house’s overhanging the cliff and overlooking the volcano. Upon your arrival to the island, one of our English-speaking representatives will be waiting for you at the port to welcome you, transfer you to your hotel, and offer a first-hand account of some of the notable characteristics of this picturesque island. The rest of the day is free to enjoy it as you please: walk in the scenic alleys during the daytime, while at night immerse yourself in the island's big party scene. Tip: Find a nice spot and watch one of the most ravishing sunsets in the world.
Exploring Santorini
You will begin your tour on the southwestern most point of the island, the famous red beach, to make a brief stop for photos. This famous volcanic beach is well known for the unique color of the sand, its soaring red lava cliffs, and its clear green waters. Just a couple of minutes away by bus, you will reach the Akrotiri excavations site, where a guided tour of the site is included (the entrance fees are not included). This is the so-called “Prehistoric Pompei” or “Lost Atlantis”, one of the most important Minoan Bronze Age settlements in the world, buried and preserved by the volcanic ash of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in human history (17th century BC). Then, you will head further south to Perissa Beach, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch (not included) and relax at one of the longest black sandy beaches in the Cyclades and the most popular beach in Santorini. Tip: Take one of the smooth winding paths and, with tasty homemade ice cream, discover something new at every corner, from the cave houses dug into the volcanic rock to the blue-domed churches, sun-bathed verandas, and gorgeous views.
Santorini Cruise
At the appointed time, we will pick you up from your hotel or the closest meeting point to transfer you to Athinios port, to begin your adventure to the islets of the small archipelago of Santorini. Along the way, you will marvel at the amazing shades of blue of the Aegean Sea and the Greek sky. The first stop will be at the island of Nea Kameni, which is still expanding as a result of occasional lava outflows. Here you can either stay on the boat or pay the entrance fee of 2.50 euros to visit the geological park. Your guide will explain to you in detail everything there is to know regarding this miracle of nature. Leaving Nea Kameni, you will sail a little further away, to its "little sister", Palea Kameni. There, you will have the chance to swim in the famous thermal springs and apply the healing mud on your body.
Sailing across the underwater craters from Palea Kameni to Thirasia Island, the boat will anchor close to Thirasia, where you can sip your wine and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner consisting of pork rolls, chicken rolls, rice, baked potatoes, Greek salad, tzatziki. In the north cape of Santorini, you will also admire the magical view of Oia village, situated on top of an impressive cliff and world-famous for its small white houses in rich okra, deep fuchsia, cobalt blue, oyster pink, and earthy red, the smooth winding paths and the breathtaking sunsets. Tip:This excursion is recommended for people in good physical condition due to the long exposure to the sun and the uphill climb to the volcano. Please note that sulfur water can discolor swimming suits.
Santorini Free Day
You will have another free day on this magical island considered by many to be the lost continent of Atlantis. You can enjoy the beaches of volcanic stones or black sand, dine by the sea, and appreciate some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.
Tip:Make sure you try tomato keftedes, a kind of tomato balls, the fava dishes (a vegetable smaller than a pea) and the cheese called Chloro. In the evening you can relax with a glass of one of the island's local wines or join in the vibrant nightlife.
Return to Athens
As the time arrives, we will transfer you to Santorini Airport for your return flight to Athens. Rest assured that your arrival at the airport will align conveniently with your international flight, ideally scheduled for departure after 12:30 PM.
Wishing you a pleasant journey! Or, as the Greeks say, "Kalo taksidi!"
Tip:Consider purchasing the classic Assyrtiko wine or the sweet Vinsanto from Santorini. You can find them at local shops or take advantage of the duty-free selection at Athens Airport, which offers an array of Greek wines and spirits.
